In a groundbreaking step towards zero-emission trucking, Nikola has unveiled its new high-pressure HYLA modular hydrogen refueling station in Southern California, accelerating the transition to sustainable transportation. Strategically positioned at 2267 W. Gaylord St. near the bustling Port of Long Beach, this station marks a significant leap forward in Nikola’s mission to revolutionize zero-emission trucking.
The innovative HYLA station, representing the blend of “HYdrogen” and “NikoLA,” stands as a symbol of the company’s commitment to building a resilient hydrogen network. Designed to deliver rapid refueling, it’s part of Nikola’s plan to establish nine refueling solutions by mid-2024, ultimately reaching 14 operational sites by the end of the year. These will include both modular fuelers and partner stations, such as the FirstElement Fuels site at the Port of Oakland.
By forging strategic alliances across the industry, Nikola is ensuring a reliable hydrogen supply chain and expanding its infrastructure to meet the burgeoning demand for zero-emission trucking solutions.
