Police are asking witnesses to a recent deadly accident to assist them in assessing what happened.

On Friday, March 26th, at 10:38 a.m., a fatal accident occurred in New Windsor, New York.

According to the North Orange Daily Voice, a 2019 Subaru was driving south on Temple Hill Road when it crossed the yellow line and collided with an oncoming semi-truck hauling a tanker trailer.

The force of the collision killed the motorist, 58-year-old Robert Stack, and heavily damaged the truck’s cab, trapping 27-year-old trucker Matthew Williams inside.

Fortunately, the fire department was able to rapidly extricate Williams from the truck, and he was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The tanker trailer was not badly damaged in the collision, and no fuel was spilled.

The trucker is expected to recover completely, but police are still looking into why Stack crossed the yellow line.
